A two-arm prospective study. The first arm will evaluate the parasite clearance kinetics in hospitalised patients with acute uncomplicated falciparum malaria treated with ASMQ FDC tablets. The second arm is a cross-sectional survey designed to evaluate the frequency of suspected false-negative HRP2 RDT results among symptomatic patients with P. falciparum malaria. Molecular testing on the dry blood spots from suspected false negative HRP2 RDT results will determine the prevalence of pfhrp2/3 gene deletions in HRP2 RDT false negative cohort and in the cohort of all symptomatic P. falciparum confirmed cases.
