PAMCA Anopheles genomics programme - Understanding genomic diversity and heterogeneity of insecticide resistance phenotypes in Anopheles gambiae s.l. in The Gambia (1272-VO-GM-OPONDO)

Location: The Gambia (GM).

Mosquito

This study includes whole mosquitoes collected in upper river region (URR) of The Gambia where Ivermectin was used. Samples were collected before, during and after ivermectin use. These samples are collected as part of monitoring insecticide resistance in the Gambia and is in collaboration with The Gambia National Malaria Control Program. The samples are also meant to answer the question of gene flow between samples in the west and east of the country that have different ecological settings. The overall goal of this project is to identify the genetic determinants underlying distribution of insecticide resistance profiles of Anopheles gambiae s.l. in The Gambia.
